Full time Cycle Mechanic/Customer Sales Adviser Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and dedicated individual to join our growing, but well-established bicycle shop.

Experience and knowledge of bicycles is essential but further training will also be provided.

Shop floor duties would include: assisting customers with enquiries, demonstrating different models and assisting with test rides, handling cash, word processing and domestic duties.

Workshop duties would include assembling new bikes, and servicing and repairing customer bikes.

Skills/Experience Required.

Only candidates with an in-depth knowledge of bicycles will be considered.

The successful candidate should:

-Have a good understanding of mechanical principles and a great level of technical bike building knowledge.
-Have an interest in cycling and an enthusiasm about the products we sell.
-Demonstrate a readiness to learn and develop
-Demonstrate a great level of technical bike building knowledge and an understanding of how to gain further information as required.
-Have a good understanding of mechanical principles, such as torque settings / materials.
-Be approachable, and be able to demonstrate strong communication skills that are tailored to customers with varying levels of cycling experience.
-Have strong problem solving skills, and be able to demonstrate an ability to use their initiative whilst working independently.
-Possess strong customer service skills, with the ability to listen to customer requirements, and help them choose the right product and size.
-Be punctual and flexible, able to take on additional hours to cover sickness, holidays or peak periods when required.
-Demonstrate great precision and attention to detail.
-Have the ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain composure, while sustaining order and focus within the team - even under heavy workloads.
-Maintain an 'open workshop' mentality, even if their workshop is out of sight.
